Whew, another year and another Christmas in SLO.

I drove down on Thursday with my two friends Doug and Sarah. The drive was smooth and we had the chance to get lunch at La Bamba before hitting the road again.

Christmas with the family was fun this morning. I scored Napoleon Dynamite on DVD and the CD by The Haunted. Also picked up some PJs and some cash for my upcoming journey to Seattle.

Tonight we are going to feast on Ham and potatoes then play Scene It. Should be good times.

Tomorow I am going to go into town and get my phone switched over to a Cingular plan, now that they own AT&T Wireless. With the new plan, I have to get a new phone. It sucks that I need a new phone, but at the same time, it is cool cause I like getting new phones.

Monday morning I should be getting picked up around 10:00am, putting us into Humboldt around 7 or 8 that night after we factor loading times and food and such.

Well, bowling was great again this monday. =)

The last 4 months have been outright crazy. I was working, of course, and hanging out with Kelly as much as possible. I took History 490 - Senior Seminar. In this class we had to write a 25 page thesis on a topic of our choice. I chose Switzerland in WWII. The paper started out real well, but became consuming and fell apart at the end. I ended up getting a B on it, which is nothing to complain about.

Tomorow is Wednesday, I work from 12:15 to 8:45. After that I am coming home and passing out as soon as I pack. Thursday morning I leave here at 7:00am with my two friends Doug and Sarah. They are going to SoCal for Christmas and so I tagged along for the carpool. I'm driving from here to the Bay Area. I'm excited to see the family a bit, I think it will be fun. I got my family members their own gifts and also picked up Scene It for everyone. Kelly has it, it is a lot of fun. I plan to play a few games of it while I'm down in SLO. Monday we are driving back up and then the following weekend is New Years.

This year has leaped away from me, it doesn't seem right. My life is going in hyperspeed right now. I am less than six months away from getting my BA, which is a scary thought. Yikes.

Hope everyone has a great Christmas, Hanukah (yeah, it's already over, but you get the point...) and any other reason for celebration.

Going Bowling tonight!

Been going every Monday night for the last 5 weeks or so. It has been a lot of fun. The bowling alley has discounted bowling every monday: $1.25/ game, it rules! I scored 148 last week, an all time personal best.

Time to go to Safeway and get something for dinner.

OK, I know I said I was going to try and keep this shit updated, and I have absolutely and completely fell off the boat. Here is what I did this summer:

partied
worked
partied
worked
worked
partied

yep, that about sums it up, it was awesome. For these seeking the finer details of my activities, stay tuned...

June was a cool month, we had two big parties at the house. Each was a house warming party for the two new roomates, Jay and Charles. They were huge successes and lots of fun. June is also the month I started my "6-Day Campaign." Basically it was me working myself todeath picking up as many shifts/ hours as I could. I was consistently working 6 days a week with a combined total of 46-48 hours each week. It was tiring but I made damn good money, which has allowed the capital one account to almost disappear.

July was a great month. Kelly and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. We went out to dinner and a movie and a nice romantic evening. More parties were had at the house, and I was introduced to "Swimmer's Delight" a national park about 45 minutes from my house. It is a river and it was great. We went a couple of times and each time was a blast.

August. This month has just started, and it is nearly half way over...
My birthday was on the 2nd, I'm 22 now. I think I officially qualify for "old." I spent my actual birthday hiking through "Avenue of The Giants" which is south of here about 45 miles. It is where all the old growth redwood trees are, it was fucking amazing. I also went out to dinner with some friends and had cake and presents at the house. Then this last weekend, a bunch of buddies from back home came up to party for JameStock. We got ahold of a Keg of Fat Tire, it was awesome. The only bum thing to gow down this month was I got a staph infection in my legs. It started with some flea bites on my legs. I scratched them things open in my sleep and then it was all open and shit. One thing leads to another and boom the shit is infected. I went to the doctor on monday and he looked at it and said it was a staph infection, and I got a shot of something in the ass. Then I went back on Tuesday as he had asked, and he said it looked better and gave me another shot in the ass, and a prescription for some big ass pills. So I'm taking the pills, the only thing that sucks is that I can't drink while I'm on the pills. This weekend I'm heading down to the Bay Area, for a midnight tour of the Winchester Mystery House. We're coming back on Tuesday the 17th, and then school starts the following monday.

Unfortunately I will not be attending the Gorge this year. I just cannot afford it and it is during school, dang nabbit. However, September 12, Golden Gate Park, I'm all over it.

That's about it for the update at this point. E-mail if if you want to see some pics of the trees, or the river, or the parties, or whatever. I'm getting a new computer this month, so I will be using it more than this old piece of shit, which in turn means I'll be online more often.... hopefully.

I say God-Damn blogger is all kinds of weird. It's been too long, what the hell happened?

Anyways, here I am. I am kind of buzzed and I don't know what I put in my last post, so here it goes...

May 14 was my last final, have not been in school since, and it feels great. Nathan, Sarah and Nik moved out, and Jay and Charles moved in, so I am in in the same house and everything, it's nice.

Last week, Kelly and I headed down to San Luis Obispo. Kelly met my parents/ family for the first time, it went well. I also got to check out the cafe that they bought, pretty cool deal. The food was damn tasty too.

On Friday, Nathan, Sarah, Kelly and myself are headed up to Oregon to see Sarah's twin sister Jessica graduate from OSU. Should be a really fun weekend. Sarah and Jessica's parents rented a hotel room for us to stay in free of charge, so bad ass! It's going to be a fun trip. I'm a little aprehensive though. Matt was supposed to go originally and he dropped out cause he has to do some shit for summer school. This will be the longest I've been around Nathan since he moved out, which has only been a couple weeks, but yeah, I dunno. I think I am just being stupid. Ok, enough of this. I'll try and get something up here after I get back.

It has been exactly two months and 15 days, but yes, I am still alive!

What have I been doing in the last two and a half months? not very much.

The biggest news I suppose is that I finished this school year with three As and a B, and I am not moving out of my house. School was cool, I am glad to be done, but it seems awfully early since I am so used to the Foothill Quarter system (aka not finishing till the end of June). Nathan, Sarah and Nik all moved out of the house, and Matt and I had looked at an apartment, when suddenly my two buddies from work Jay and Charles said they needed a place. One thing leads to another and voila, I have two new roomates and the same house, which means no packing/ moving for me, Most Excellent!

I have been working a lot of hours, picking up shifts and what not. I was recently promoted to Part Time Cashier, which means I make more money, it rocks. I have been majorly slacking all around otherwise. I have been just working and schooling and drinking. I am not complaining by any means, just stating the facts.

Tonight I BBQed some garlic-sesame-teriyaki chicken and watched the Giants kick the shit out of the Diamondbacks. In other words it was a good night. Tomorow I have the day off and I am helping Nathan get his and Sarah's shit out, then the house will be empty for Jay and Charles to get in.

Memorial day Kelly and I are driving down to the bay area, then on tuesday going down to San Luis Opisbo. Kelly will be meeting the parentals for the first time. Speaking of the parents, they um, kind of bought a restaraunt type thing. You may be asking have ever done anything in this field before? and I would have to answer you with a big fat No.

Well, I am leaving, mor to come.

I know I have kind of cock-teased ya'll, but well yeah, you're gonna have to deal with it.

Today is one of the happiest days of my life. I am reporting from Stupid, and today is the last day of class ever! Next week is spring break. I have one class from 6-9 tonight and then I am officially on Spring Break. Hell Yeah!

Not too many plans for next week. Lots of work and partying. Going to drive down to the bay area on either wednesday night or thursday morning and then driving back up here friday night. Saturday is the "big party" should be fun. Till next time....

Yee Haw!

another week gone by, here's the scoop...

Last week we had the talk, it was a lot smoother than I had anticipated. Nik agreed to stay with us (read: pay rent) until we all move out. Then we set a date for that. May will be the last month for Harris Ranch as we know it, we're giving our 30 day notice on May 1st, and then we're done. Matt and I are going to try and find a nice two bedroom place in Eureka. Right about now is the time when housing becomes available, so we're keeping an eye out. I figure if we can find a place in April, get it secured by the middle of the month we'll be fine. It'll give us plenty of time to get our shit moved in, and also time to find stuff we need for it. If something just blows out of the water, I'm sure we'd jump on it when we find it, but at this point, I'm just casually browsing.

Not too much to report besides that. Only 2 more classes of "Stupid" left, which also means, only one more week of school until spring break! Don't have too many plans for that week though. Thursday and Friday of that week Matt, Kelly and I are headed down to the Bay Area, which will be awesome. I think Matt and I are going to have a St Patrick's Day Party, that'll be cool. I think that's about it. Adios for now.

So it's wednesday, the last wednesday of the month, time for Nik to drive up and spend a few days at the house, and leave behind a rent check for the first of the month. Tonight should be a little different though...

Monday night I was up playing Canasta with Nathan and he told me he wanted to have a house meeting when Nik comes up. He wants to discuss the living situation and all that since the lease is up in April, which I think is a good idea. The part where he stopped making sense was when he told me:

"Yeah, I was thinking it might be better to move out in the middle of the semester while there is less competition, instead of doing it in May when we're all worried about finals and stuff."

This is not something I can afford right now, and furthmore, it'd be soooo disruptive to everything, I'd personally much rather do my moving after school is over. I'm not too worried, since I'm pretty sure Nathan's motivation for such a statement came from the fight he and matt got into earlier that evening while I was at work. I heard both sides of the story, and it sounds to me like they're both guilty of certain things but neither one can stnd the other and that's the bottom line.

Gosh I am just rambling about not very much. Even my sentence structure is bad. Ugggghhhh, tonight should be fun...

Well, It's been 12 days, and what a CRAZY 12 days it has been.

I hate to start a blog off on a sad note, but I'm trying to stay chronological, so here it goes:

5 Feb: I had no school, but was working all day. Two hours into my shift a coworker passes out, hits his head on the floor and his given shocks with the paddles from the paramedics and was then taken out on a tretcher, unconcious. Two hours later I get back from lunch and taken into the office where a manager tells me Jeremy passed away. Jeremy and I weren't really close, but it was still shocking and hard to deal with. Made it hard to finish the shift.

6-8 Feb: Fun weekend, nothing exciting really.

9 Feb: Went to memorial service for Jeremy. It was over-filled, had to stand outside. Half of Costco was there. After the service went to the beach with Nathan, Matt and Sarah. It was absolutely beautiful. I uploaded the pics on my site, but haven't made a gallery, so I'll get that up later this week.

13 Feb: Hung out with Kelly all day. Saw "50 First Dates." Good movie, nathan suggested that Adam and Drew are the new Tom Hanks & Meg Ryan of romantic comedies. That night Kelly, Matt, Doug and I saw a play. It was Brighton Beach Memoirs, absolutely fantastic! Then we went to a going away party for my co-worker Bryan. I was driving so I was a good boy, Kelly got nice and drunk, she had a good time.

14 Feb: Worked all day then went to Kelly's. We got Chinese take out and hung out for a bit. Then I took her, Doug and Steve over to my house to party. Nathan, Sarah, Matt and his friend Sarah (yep 2 of em in the house at the same time!) were all there. We proceeded to get nice and sloppy. It was a great time, had lots of fun!

15 Feb: Work was hard. I felt all crappy and tired most of the day. Got home, ate dinner, watched the Simpson then watched Van Wilder. I tried going to bed early, since I haven't slept much in a while, didn't work. Couldn't get to sleep till like 1:30 or 2:00.

Pretty tired today, finishing up the last 30 minutes of "stupid." Going to Kelly's afterwards to hang out, should be fun.

Saw the line up for Bonnaroo. I want to go soo badly! Unfortunately, I've already got plans, besides, don't think I could afford it. I'll be in Oregon that weekend. Jessica is graduating and her parents already reserved two hotel rooms. One for them, and one for all us friends. Soooo kick ass! Can't wait!

OK, it's been a few days, and I actually have something on my mind...

The house I am in is a 5 bedroom house, it has plenty of space, a decent kitchen, washer and dryer and is in a nice neighborhood. Sounds great right? Well it does to me. However, the roomates have sided that, despite how great the house is, they're done with it. NNN and Sarah want to get a place on their own, and Nik, since he never moved up, is eager to stop paying rent ASAP. That leaves Matt and I. There's no way we can afford to keep this house by ourselves, neither of us is comfortable with the idea of living with complete strangers and the only 3 people I know of that need another place to live next year would be Kelly and her two roomates Doug and Steve. Easy solution would be to have those three move in, however, Kelly and Steve don't drive, thus they must live in Arcata, as close to campus as possible. This means there will be no more Harris Ranch.

Another option has surfaced in all this, Matt and I can move into Kelly's house and fill the two rooms that will be opening up this summer. It sounds nice, but there are a few concerns. Number one being, their house isn't all that great. There's no garbage disposal, no washer or dryer, no backyard, no garage and they have a major ant infestation problem. Another problem, I haven't talked with Matt yet about his ideas/ preferences, so the few talks I've had with Kelly about us moving in have been strictly hypothetical, and I don't believe she has mentioned it to Steve or Doug. I'm also not quite sure that I am fully ready to move in with Kelly yet. We've been going out since July 4, and everything is great, but I mean, it's a BIG step. Plus, going to see her is one of my escapes, which was part of the reason I never wanted to kill any of my current roomates. Now that escape would be gone, and I guess I'm afraid of smothering.

Over the summer I watched a couple move up here from San Diego. They had never lived together before this and within a month and half were split up. They both had to move out and it was a big ugly mess. I don't think such a thing would quite happen in my situation, but it is looming in the back of my mind, "what if...". I couldn't imagine how horrible it would be if that happened and I had to leave the house, or worse yet had to stay there. Grrrr. This sucks. So much crap to think about. It is a few months away, but it is totally something I need to think about. Really need to sit down with Matt and get shit straight with him and see what his feelings are.

so here it is, monday afternoon, another exciting edition of "Computers For The History Major" or as I like to refer to it, "Stupid, Part II."
We're currently learning how to use Google. My word! This is amazing!

This weekend was pretty cool, not too much happened. Worked alot, which is good, cause I need the money. I saw Big Fish on friday, very cool movie. I liked it. Saturday night we rented a bunch of movies and watched Four Rooms. I had not seen it before, it was good. For those unaware, this movie takes place in a hotel, and each of the four scenes, or "rooms" is written and directed by a different person. I don't remember the first two, but the third and fourth were done by Robert Rodriguez (Desperado) and Quinten Tarrintino (Pulp Fiction). If you get a chance, check it out, it's pretty crazy, lots of fun.

This is my last class of the day, going to Kelly's afterwards, then I have to go grocery shopping. When I get home we're going to watch Full Metal Jacket. None of us have seen it, I know it's not pleasant, but I'm totally looking forward to it.

Hanging out in the computer lab at school, in my "Computer Research For History Majors" class. First day back. Yay!

Classes have been cool so far, History of Mexico is shaping up to be awesome, we have our final a month before school lets out, and the last four weeks, we'll be reading and discussing novels, kick ass!

I have one more class after this one, Modern Japan. It's with one of my favorite professors up at HSU. Ooops, we're learning now, or something. I think I'll be blogging a lot in this class.

Wow, it's 2004. I'm going to be 22 this year. Its realyl weird for me. I've always been the baby. I have a summer birthday so I was always the youngest in the classroom throughout elementary school. In high school, I stopped hanging out with people my age and instead began hanging out with a group of friends that were all at a community college. Now, I work with a group of people that vast majority are fresh out of High School. I'm for once feeling not necessarily old, hell I think I'm the youngest person that reads this blog. I don't feel old, but I do feel older...

I'm not sure where I was going with that, kind of a messy rambling of my brain. Typical "it's a new year let's philosiphize" bullshit.

So, New Years was a fun time. A few friends came up to party with us, it was a good time. We partied hard and shaved our heads. 5 of us ended up with haircuts, including Sarah, who now has about an inch of hair.

Been working a fair amount. Nothing too spectacular going on in my life. Last night one of the guys from work came over and we got stoned with NNN and ended up reading his philosophy books on metaphysics and a book by Plato. It was actually a lot of fun. We also walked to Safeway and got food. I ended up sleeping in till 1:45 this afternoon and then watched Mulholland Dr. That movie is Fucked up, needs to watch it again. Mowed the lawn today and took a shower. That's about it. Think I'm gonna watch the Godfather later.

School starts on the 21 for me. Should be fun.
