Packing, Packing, Packing!

So, my parents are insane. They have decided they want to quit their jobs, sell the house and buy a Bed and Breakfast Inn down in Solvang (little town near Santa Barbara.) Yep. All at the time when I'm trying to get my moving done. For those of you not familiar with California's geography, Eureka (where HSU is) is at the top of the state. The Bay Area is more or less the middle, and Santa Barbara is down in the souther part of the state. This means there will now be 550 miles or about 10 hours between me and my family. What a trip.

Last weekend was a blast despite my absence from LA. Saturday I got to hang out with Kevin, Sarah and Kelly at the beach. We all smoked and had a little picnic until it got dark. It was awesome. Sunday, I got to see Devon, whome I had not seen in over a year. She was doing well, had a little party, I got a little sick. It's been a long time since I've had hard liquor. Ouch. Monday I played football with some guys from work, and then packed all day.

Tonight I'm seeing the Blue Man Group. They are playing at the Warfield, should be awesome. Rest of the weekend is up for grabs, probably finish packing up all my stuff that don't need for the next month. Good times.

New Maxim in the mail today, who's on the cover? SHANIA TWAIN! ROCK!!!

In other news, I'm listening to all my old mp3's on my comp. Some classic shit on here, and some plain ol' shitty shit. I'm writing my essays for my Renaissance midterm that are due tomorow. This weekend will be slow. Working, and matt, nick and nate are going to LA to kick it with Justin, wish I were going.

Ever have those days when you just feel good? I've been in a pretty good mood as of late, not exactly sure why, but I just am. I've been keeping on the running with Matt as much as possible. My work schedule really only allows me to go out twice a week with him, but 2 runs is better than none, so I'm doing what I can. I haven't been letting school stress me out since it's my last quarter, and wouldn't you know it, I'm pulling straight A's so far. Fuck Yeah!!

NNN, Sarah and Kelly come home from HSU tommorow night. I can't believe they are done with school already, those lucky bastards. I can't wait to hang with them though, it's been over a month since I've seen any of them, should be a lot of fun. Although, now that they're home, there will always be someone to go hang out with, since NNN is ALWAYS down to kick, no matter what day or how late, he's there to hang out with you. Which rocks, but I'll have to actually put effort into setting aside time to do school work.

Slowly but surely, I'm getting ready to move. I picked up the cable router for the internet, a rice cooker, sheets and a comforter and my dad hooked me up with a knife set. All I need to buy is my bed, some blankets, a nice cast iron skillet and lots of beer. =)

Going to see the MATRIX tonight at 10:00, I already heard from homie Ellie today that it rocks (she saw it last night at 11:00.) The rest of the weekend is work and hanging with the crew, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mmmmm, school. Yeah.

I got out of my speech class early, thank god, that class is completely useless. I sit in a chair with no desk on purpose, because I have not taken a single note in that class yet. She talks to us about Dr. Phil and Judge Judy and how we should watch what people do with their eyes and feet. It's a boring class. For our group project we're doing a presentation on Medicinal Marijuana. At least our topic is of some interest. I get to talk about the legality of it, state laws vs. government laws. Oh well, it'll be ok.

I have my US history class in 20 minutes, get to find out how I did on the test I took last thursday. I did the reading, well at least 90% of it so I should be ok. I finished it pretty quickly and knew most of it. I talked to someone in the earlier class and she got a D, but didn't read much I don't think, so we'll see. I really want an A in that class, so I need at least a B on this test, an A would be far superior though.

After class I'm heading down to the Strouds Outlet to see if they have any good deals on some bedding for the new bed I'm going to get. Need sheets, pillow cases, comforter and blankets. Hopefully this little trip won't kill me, and by me, I mean my checkbook. I get paid on Friday anyways, so it's all good. I've got enough for the bills, the rent and recreation.

Speaking of, this weekend was full of recreation.

Friday: HUng out with Matt and celebrated the great return of his testicles. That's right, he finally broke up with that evil woman! WOOOOOO HOOOOO!!! We had a couple beers and then a VERY nice dinner over at Gordon Biersch.

Saturday I got to se Shayna and John. It had been a year since I've last seen them, they both looked great. It was awesome to hang out. We went to Celia's for dinner. Some good Mexican food. Mmmmm. After that I hooked up with Matt, Brent and Nik and saw X-Men 2. I never saw the first X-Men, but I enjoyed this one. It was good entertainment.

Sunday was Mother's Day I picked up some flowers for my mom and gave them to her when I got home from work. Dad prepared a nice dinner for everyone and we all had a good time.

Well, class starts in 10 minutes, better post this and walk my ass accross campus.

So this last weekend was pretty damn fun! Friday night we went to an Underwea Party. Basically a lot of drunk people running around in underwear. The highlights were the girl wearing the see-through top and bottoms and our friend Travis running around in his Scooby Doo Underroos.

Saturday we went to breakfast and got a big ol bowl of country potatoes with melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa on them. They were hella good. Esther, you would have LOVED them. =) After that we sat around the house. Saw the movie Confidence. It's the one with Dustin Hoffman and Edwd Burns. Damn good movie, enjoyed it alot. Then we went to dinner at this place called Pluto's. Which is like the Ikea of eating establishments. You go to the counter and give them a punch card. They punch out the things you order, then you pay for it and pick it up. It was decent. Had some killer Garlic Fries. Mmmm. From there we went and checked out a couple bands playing some free shows. After that we went back to Travis' place and chilled for the night. It was cool.

Sunday we got up and went to the store. Got all the goodsnecessary for some kick ass French Toast. Including Texas Toast (the big fluffy bread they us in resturants.) We hung for a bit then Brent and I made our way back home. I picked up a birthday card for my little sister who is now 18 and slipped in 20 bucks. Had some dinner with the family and called it a night.

Yesterday I went to school which was ok, a little boring, but I realized that this quarter is just flying by. After next week, I'll be halfway done. Stoked! After school I picked up my 9 year old sister from school and ten went jogging with Matt. A we were stretching out before our run he says to me "What you up to tonight?"
"Nothing"
"Well, it's Cinco de Mayo, we should do somerthing."
So we ended up going to the store and getting all the necessary ingredients for a kick ass BBQ:
(2) Tri-Tip Roasts
(6) Limes
(5) Serrano Chiles
(1) Mango
(1) Bottle of Emril's Southwest Essence
(12) Coronas
(2) Jars of Salsa
(1) Bag of Tortilla Chips

We got back to Matt's house and busted out the chips and salsa and the Coronas and limes. Then we got started out the meat. We mixed the Essence with some dried chili powder and some lemon pepper. Then we put the Mango, the Chiles, the juice of 4 limes and a healthy splash of Milago Tequilla in a chopper. The result was a sweet and tangy salsa with a kick. We poured the juice over the steaks and ate the leftovers with chips. After the steaks absorbed all the liquid we put the dry ingredients on the and made a nice layer. Then we fired up the BBQ. The meat came out AWESOME! Definitely something I plan on doing again in the future, and the mango salsa was DAMN tasty.

Tonight I'm cooking a garlic sesame teriyaki chicken with white rice. Then it's off to Tuesday night bowling with one of my old professors and a couple of old classmates. Yee-Haw!
