So this last weekend was pretty damn fun! Friday night we went to an Underwea Party. Basically a lot of drunk people running around in underwear. The highlights were the girl wearing the see-through top and bottoms and our friend Travis running around in his Scooby Doo Underroos.
Saturday we went to breakfast and got a big ol bowl of country potatoes with melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa on them. They were hella good. Esther, you would have LOVED them. =) After that we sat around the house. Saw the movie Confidence. It's the one with Dustin Hoffman and Edwd Burns. Damn good movie, enjoyed it alot. Then we went to dinner at this place called Pluto's. Which is like the Ikea of eating establishments. You go to the counter and give them a punch card. They punch out the things you order, then you pay for it and pick it up. It was decent. Had some killer Garlic Fries. Mmmm. From there we went and checked out a couple bands playing some free shows. After that we went back to Travis' place and chilled for the night. It was cool.
Sunday we got up and went to the store. Got all the goodsnecessary for some kick ass French Toast. Including Texas Toast (the big fluffy bread they us in resturants.) We hung for a bit then Brent and I made our way back home. I picked up a birthday card for my little sister who is now 18 and slipped in 20 bucks. Had some dinner with the family and called it a night.
Yesterday I went to school which was ok, a little boring, but I realized that this quarter is just flying by. After next week, I'll be halfway done. Stoked! After school I picked up my 9 year old sister from school and ten went jogging with Matt. A we were stretching out before our run he says to me "What you up to tonight?"
"Nothing"
"Well, it's Cinco de Mayo, we should do somerthing."
So we ended up going to the store and getting all the necessary ingredients for a kick ass BBQ:
(2) Tri-Tip Roasts
(6) Limes
(5) Serrano Chiles
(1) Mango
(1) Bottle of Emril's Southwest Essence
(12) Coronas
(2) Jars of Salsa
(1) Bag of Tortilla Chips
We got back to Matt's house and busted out the chips and salsa and the Coronas and limes. Then we got started out the meat. We mixed the Essence with some dried chili powder and some lemon pepper. Then we put the Mango, the Chiles, the juice of 4 limes and a healthy splash of Milago Tequilla in a chopper. The result was a sweet and tangy salsa with a kick. We poured the juice over the steaks and ate the leftovers with chips. After the steaks absorbed all the liquid we put the dry ingredients on the and made a nice layer. Then we fired up the BBQ. The meat came out AWESOME! Definitely something I plan on doing again in the future, and the mango salsa was DAMN tasty.
Tonight I'm cooking a garlic sesame teriyaki chicken with white rice. Then it's off to Tuesday night bowling with one of my old professors and a couple of old classmates. Yee-Haw!
