Once again I am reporting from SLO.
Had a lovely Christmas with the family. Flew down Christmas morning. My plane left Eureka at 6:15am so getting up kind of sucked. Flight down was pretty harmless. Got picked up and then went to Church with the family. It was the first time since last Christmas. Kind of weird, cause the whole church thing doesn't really do it for me, but once I stepped inside, it all came back to me. Every prayer and sheep like muttering came running out of my mouth like I'd been going every week. I think it meant a lot to mom and dad that we were all there together, so it was ok.
After church we came home and opened presents. It was really nice of my parents to make everyone wait for me to get there, and I even got a couple of gifts which were unexpected seeing as I just got a brand new car. I got a flannel shirt and pajamas. I also got an electric blanket and a cookie jar shaped like a bullfrog that sings "Joy To The World" when you open it. His name is Jeremiah. I also scored a copy of Mallrats on DVD and my uncle Chuck from Washington sent me the Beatles "1" CD and 20 bucks. I talked to him on the phone for like three and a half hours yesterday. We talked about life and a bunch of stuff. He's going to call me in a few days when I get back up north. I'd like to get back up to Seattle and see him for a day or two, but it may have to wait till Spring Break.
Pretty much I've just been sitting around the house relaxing. Eating lots of food and watching movies. We've also played a lot of family games. It's been a nice visit. Today my dad and I sat on the couch and watched Anger Management while drinking beer and snacking on chips and salsa. Kind of weird drinking with my dad, but it was cool. We picked up a 6 pack of Red Seal Ale, tasty brew.
I fly out tomorow morning at 10:20am. However I have a 3 hour layover in SF. I'm going to try and find a book at the Airport to buy and read. My Maxim isn't going to last that long. I get into Eureka at 3:30 and have the house to myself for one last night. Tuesday everyone comes home and we have friends coming up for our NYE extravaganza. Should be good times. Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and that they have a great New Years.

So, it's almost been a month, yeah, I'm alive.
I'm all done with school, last final turned in today. Woo Hoo! Haven't been up to a whole lot. Been enjoying the new car a lot. It's such a sweet ride! Otherwise, just been working and schoolin, had 4 take home finals. Glad to be done with all of them. Been watching the setlists for Dave and Friends, pretty cool stuff, I really want to go to the show in Oakland. My time off request was denied but I'm going to try and get down there somehow. I gots to see the show.
Flying home to see the family on Christmas morning. Going to be down south for 4 days. Not exactly sure what the hell I'm gonna do the whole time. I've got no friends down there, and I won't have a car, so it should be interesting. I'm predicting a lot of sitting on my ass, eating, watching movies, and playing board games with the fam.
Well, that's about it for me, till next time...

Well, I'm in San Luis Obispo.
The House is nice. It's a bit smaller than the old house, it has one less bedroom. The area seems nice though, the drive down was ok. Monday night I drove from Eureka to the bay area, took 4.5 hours. I met up with nathan, sarah, kelly, matt, brent and jared at Denny's. It was awesome! Went over to Sarah's afterwards and saw the work her parents have done. After that I went to Kelly's and stayed the night there.
Today we got up and moved a couch for Kelly's mom, then had some french toast. Kelly had an optometrist appointment, so I went to the bank, got gas in the car and than went to my old Costco. Got to sayt hi to a lot of old buddies so it was nice. From there I went back up to Kelly's and said goodbye to her. I stopped in Mountain View so I could get a burrito from La Bamba. Mmmmmmm, so damn good. I ate it on the way down.
Made it to SLO just after 4:30. We had spaghetti for dinner with my mom's homemade spaghetti sauce. Today was truly a day of feasting. I got to check out the car. It's pretty nice, I likes it. It will take some getting used to, but I'm totally stoked about it.
Tomorow I'm burning a bunch of CDs from my parents and hanging out with the family, going to try and take the car out for a spin. We're having our Thanksgiving dinner tomorow since I have to leave on Thursday, so sweet. I'm not exactly looking forward to an 8 hour drive on thursday, but the new car with 10 disc CD changer will make things a bit easier. I'm also totally excited to go see my homies Justin and Erinn.
All right, time for some Emeril Live.
Monday, November 24, 2003
Well, it's 1:16am and I'm not even packed yet...
Tomorow I have to work from 11:00-7:30, from there I'm leaving straight for the Bay Area. Planning to get into the San Mateo Area around midnight, no later than 1:00am. So in 24 hours, I should be enjoying a delicious meal at Denny's with all the homies. Staying the night @ Kelly's then going to visit some people on Tuesday, then drive down to SLO to see the family. Thursday I get top drive back from SLO to Eureka, with a stop over in the Bay Area to see Kelly and my homeslices Justin and Erinn. However, this drive will be a bit different.
Today my dad called and left me a message saying I should call him back about some interesting news. I called him after work and he tells me he traded in the Suburban bought a 2003 Buick Le Sabre and a 1994 Buick Park Avenue. He then proceeded to tell me that the Oldsmobile will be staying in SLO for my sister to drive and that I will be taking the Park Avenue up to school. Awesome! Soooo stoked. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love my car, but I've been dreaming getting a new one for a long time, this is going to rock! Dad says it has leather seats and a 6 disc CD changer, yeeeeee haw!!!
Well, I suppose I should try and get my shit together so I can get some sleep, got a LONG day ahead of me tomorow. For those celebrating, have a great Thanksgiving!

Alison is the shit when it comes to Karaoke! She busted out songs even without the words on the screen. And she's tasty in a manwich! Mmmmm Mmmm Mmmm.
Having that said...
I'm horrible at spelling, especially when it comes to names, so, sorry for all the bad spelling, I'll have to get the gallery updated.
Today is Kelly's 21st B-Day. We went to Safeway last night so she could make her first purchase. Going bar hoping tonight, and then she's going home tomorow for 10 days. Thankfully I'll get to see her on Monday night, and hopefully again on thursday. Time for work, have a good weekend all.

Hey Hey, My My!
Well, as usual I'm late on my update, but here goes. The flights to and from Texas were horrible, we were in a dry city and I spent 2 out of 3 nights sleeping on the floor. However, if given the chance, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat!
The trip out was long and tiring, but I finally made it to Texas. I was the first one to get there, and made 3 more trips back to the airport to pick everyone up on Thursday night. We had dinner @ Shayna's dad's house. I asked for hot sauce and started pouring the Tabassco on my enchiladas and Shayna's little brother started freaking out "You're going to kill yourself man, do you know how hot that is?" It was awesome. From there we went to the hotel and I passed out on the bed for a nice 10 minute power nap. From there, I went to a bar with John and Scott. After an Irish car bomb, half a snifter of Grand Manier and about 4 Bass Ales, it was time for John's last stand as a bachelor. We went to some skeezy strip club in Dallas where I spent most of the night sucking down some strange Texas beer, Shiner Bock. It tasted good at the time, but man, was I hating it the next morning. We left the strip bar at 2:00am where I passed out in the car and had to be dragged into the hotel room.
I woke up at 12:00pm and felt bad. I drank a bunch of water, and a nice long shower. Scott, John and I went to pick up their tuxes and made a much needed stop at Wendy's. Mmmmm, grease! From there we went and picked up Alyse, Alison, Brian, Laura and Eric, the car was a little over filled. Back to the hotel, where I met Allison for the first time. The girls and I got all dressed up for Halloween, we were the Black Eyed P's. It was dope. We met up with Shayna & Co. at Humperdinks. That is where I had a lot more Bass, another Car Bomb and I got Jenks to do a prairie Fire with me (That's a shot of tequila with Tabassco in it.) At this point I was drunk enough to sing and committed numerous Karaoke atrocities, including White Wedding, Paradise City, The Joker and the always loved Living On a Prayer.
Saturday was a day of loafing. We stayed in the room the whole day and hung out. Around 4:00 or so the girls started getting ready for the wedding. We were at the Four Seasons by 5:30, and I must say, we were some hot bitches. The Four Seasons was way cool. Totally above my credit limit for life. The wedding started a little after 6:00 which was good cause Robbi made it just in time. The ceremony was absolutely awesome. I'd never been to a Jewish wedding before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. John was all choked up and looked liked he was about to cry, while Shayna had to the biggest smile on her face I'd ever seen, she looked like a 10 year old girl that just got a puppy. After the ceremony we hit the open bar. Crown Royal, on the rocks, the start to any good evening. The dinner was fucking great, there was soup, salad, main course and cake. Not to mention tons of wine. Then the dancing started. I kept sucking back a lot of Fat Tires. That's when I hit the dance floor and ended up singing again... on stage. Yeah, I think I was a bit TOO drunk, but I had fun, hopefully it wasn't embarrassing for anyone. After the wedding, we tried to find a place to buy beer, but it was of no use. We headed back to the hotel. I remember being outside having a bunch of debates with people over ethics, social construction and the state of California. Eventually I made it back to the room and hung out a while more.
I had asked for a wake up call for 5:45am, they called at 6:45am, needless to say I missed my 6:55am flight out of Dallas. I got the shuttle to take me to the airport and talked to the lady at the counter. She was really cool and got me home ok, just a couple hours late.
Overall it was a blast! I had so much fun hanging out with all my homies and can't wait to do it again. As for Texas, not sure I'm in a big rush to get back there, but if that's where everyone is, I can make an exception.
As for life right now, things are good. I've got next week off from school for Thanksgiving, so monday night I'm driving down to the Bay Area and staying at Kelly's place. Tuesday I'm going to try and visit some folks and then drive to SLO to see la familia. I have to work on Friday, so I will be driving back to Eureka on Thursday, probably leave SLO in the morning, then take a break in the Bay Area, try and see Justin and then make the last leg of the Journey up to Eureka. Should be fun, I'm really looking forward to seeing my parent's new house and stuff, although, I'm not too stoked about the idea of sleeping on the couch.
I know you're dying to see pictures of my trip to Texas, so just click the button below. I also have a gallery of the 10 pictures I took in Vegas back in August. I'm going to try and get a lot more stuff on there, we'll see how it goes.

Monday, October 27, 2003
Well, it's monday, the mess is cleaned up, beer is mostly put away, but the blood still remains splattered on the street and on Matt's car.
Yeah, the party was kind of interesting. It was going fine for a while. We had a keg, there were tons of people and everyone was just plain having a great time. Then some weird people showed up. People nobody knew, but somehow found out through friends of friends of friends that were invited. Stupid drama went down, fists started swinging and there was a lot of blood loss. I made it through without injury, though my favorite party shirt got blood stains all over it. My roomate nathan got jumped by a bunch of Somoans, his nose is still swollen.
I don't get why people have to get all stupid when they're drunk. It's like, they set out to start fights and see how much shit they can stir up. I don't get it, it's not fun. Everyone was drinking and smoking and having an awesome time, till the asshole gang got there. Grrr. Sometimes, I really hate people.
After the party Nathan and I got into a big old fight and I ended up in my room talking with matt and kelly for an hour, then passing out. Talked to nathan last night though after I got home from work and everything is cool as far as I can tell.
While we're on the subject of roomates, I might have a new one. Not sure if everyone is aware of the situation @ Harris Ranch, but here it is:
5 bedroom, 2 bath house.
4 people living in it.
5 people paying rent.
Our friend Nik was the first one to get excited about moving to Humboldt County, moved all his furniture, changed all his billing addresses, even registered to vote up here. All he had left was to find a well paying job he could live off of, and he was here. A couple weeks ago, when the red sox were playing in Oakland, so whenever that was, he called us. Nik says he's sorry, but he can't afford to move up, there's no job that will allow him to pay off his credit card debt. However, he says, since he's living at his grandparents for no rent, and is legally obligated make good on the lease, he has agreed to continue paying rent. It's a cool deal for us, however, I feel kind of bad making him pay rent for a place he's not even living in.
Story number two:
There is a guy at work, Jay. He moved up here from San Diego a week before I did. He had a girlfriend of 4 years, though they'd never lived together. They now work together, go to school and live with each other. A month or two after moving up here, they broke up. Awkward. Now, she is seeing someone else, another person from Costco, and Jay just can't hang with it, and I can't blame him. He came over Friday cause he needed to get out, he was at the party, and he came over again last night. We kind of talked about it, and he asked if we were looking to fill that empty room. So Nathan, Matt and Sarah all said they want him to come hang out more so we can all get to know him more. We also need to talk to Nik, but that seems like it won't be much of a problem, now he'll have free storage for all his shit, and he can still come up whenever he feels like it. I'll keep everyone updated on how this all turns out. Well, time to head home.

Woooo! Party this weekend!!
Yep, October 25th is officially Rocktoberfest! Fiesta will take place @ Harris Ranch (aka my house in Eureka) around 8:00pm. Can't wait to get my party on! Yee-Haw!
Monday, October 13, 2003
Woo!! Going to see Galactic tonight at 9:00! It's gonna be awesome. I've got a few Live shows of theirs, but this will be my first time seeing them live, I'm totally excited!
Not too much excitement going on otherwise. Saw Kill Bill and Intolerable Cruelty this last weekend. Kill Bill was amazing! Go see it, NOW! I plan to see it again, and cannot wait for volume two, due out in Feb.
Intolerable Cruelty was decent. I was really excited cause it's a Coen brothers movie (Fargo, Big Lebowski...) and there was totally funny moments. All in all, it wasn't amazing, but not terrible. Nice cute movie to go take your girlfriend to.
Well, I thinks it might be time to go play some drums....

not much to say.
Got myself a nice shirt, tie and pair of slacks for the wedding, just need shoes and a belt. Sweet.
Interesting news: check this one out.
We decided last night that we needed to have a party. So, October 25 will be Rocktoberfest! Come one, come all, it's gonna be off the hook!

New Outkast album = excellent.
New Govt Mule album/ DVD = excellent.
That being said, yeah, it's been good over here. Last night I took Kelly out to dinner at this nice Italian place. It was so damn good. After that we walked around Arcata a while, no movies were playing anymore so we went to the record store. I bought the Govt Mule deal, and looked at Outkast but deemed it too much cash, so Kelly bought it while I wasn't looking, said it was payback for buying dinner. I was excited. Listening to the end of Speakerboxxx right now.
Exactly three weeks from today I will be in Texas. Yee Haw! Soooo excited for this trip! Tonight I'm picking Kelly up at 5:30 then we're going to the mall so I can get something decent to wear to the wedding. I don't have money for a suit, so slacks, a tie, a belt, shoes and maybe a new shirt are on the menu tonight. Hopefully I can get away with everything for less than $150.
Friday, October 03, 2003
It's 2:20am
Kelly is passed out in my bed, a mere 3 feet from where I sit. I am here typing my midterm for Irish History. I enjoy the class and love the teacher, but something about term papers, not so much love.
We have to write (2) 3-5 page papers. I wrote the first one, it was 4 pages, it took two and a half hours. At that rate, I should be wrapping up around 5:00am, enough to get in 3 hours of sleep and face the beautiful world. blech.
I'm off to get the coffee pot set up for tommorow, I just want to be able to plug it in and get started. Yee-Haw!

word!
Yeah, I've had a nice drink tonight, and am working on another. But, it's my friday. No work OR school tomorow! ROCK! White Russian with Chocolate syrup (Mudslide?) HELLA GOOD! Yeah...
Not too much to blog about. Should probably be reading, but that is what all day tomorow is for.
So, I think anyone that reads this thing knows about what happened with me, Gorge 2002 and the camera crew. If you've forgot it went something like this:
Camera: Hey guys, how's it going? So who's your favorite member of the band? Is it Dave?
Me: Fuck Dave Matthews, I want to have Carter Beauford's baby!
Well, my girlfriend and her house-mates found this endlessly entertaining and are waiting to see if I'm on the DVD set. I hope not. Anyways, I went over to their house last night and they have a poster up of Dave and a caption pasted onto it that reads "James, what about my baby?"
I almost died laughing, it's absolutely hallarious!
Not too much else to report. Nathan, Sarah and Kelly are going to the Gorge on the 27th to see James Taylor. I am SOOOOOOOOO jealous! I could have gone. However, certain financial responsibilities are not allowing it. I mean, honestly, I could not pay off my credit card balance this month and go, but it would not be smart. So I'm staying home. =/ Damn responsibilities.
Thursday, September 11, 2003
So I'm sitting here listening to Ben Harper. It's 3:06am. Yeah.
I keep drifting in and out of moods of sleepiness and complete awakeness. Right now, I'm completely awake. I wish there was something cool to do right now. I have no school or work tomorow, so it really doesn't matter too much how late I stay up, which is really nice. At the same time, I have to be considerate of the others in the house and keep myself quiet.
I've lately discovered a new love for Ben Harper, it's some seriously great stuff. I've never not liked it, but I was never really into it. Howerever, as of late, it's been in HEAVY rotation. Another band popping into my collection, The Flaming Lips. These guys are just cool. I really like their song "Race For The Prize" check it out if you can, it's good stuff.
The other day I was reading Tiff's blog which I hadn't done in months(sorry Tiff), and stumbled upon an old post about "home." It got me thinking about where I am right now, where my parents are and how I really don't have a "home" to go home to. They bought a place in San Luis Obispo that I've never even seen. The house I pretty much grew up in, back in Redwood City is now inhabited by some weird family. There's some kid sleeping in my room, the room that I have 17 years worth of memories in (moved into that house when I was four.) Somebody is sitting in the same backyeard that I had a 7 day BBQ & Beer bonanza last August. Someone is taking a shower in the bathroom with the extra tall shower head that the plumber installed specially for me when we remodled. Someone else is sitting in the family room where I watched Mr. Wizard, Pee Wee's Playhouse, He-Man and a slew of other great TV shows. When we first moved into that house, I was four. I had no real attachment to the old house, I mean, I can still remember it, but not much. The house in Redwood City was "home," and now, it's someone elses' home. My new home is here in Eureka. I like it. It's nice, it's cozy and it doesn't have parents. At the same time, I know it's completely temporary and that in less than two years, I'll be packing everything up again and moving on to greener pastures. I guess it's the lack of security that bothers me so much. When I moved up here, I had to pack up everything I had, because I couldn't be sure anything I left behind would be there in the future. So right now, my room is cluttered with all kinds of crap. Stuff under the bed, stuff in the closet, stuff on the shelves, stuff on the floor. It looks like a rumage sale gone awry.
Not sure where any of this is going, but somehow, it feels good to get it off my chest. Tomorow the goal is to get some of this crap cleaned up. Organization will prevail. I have a filing cabinet and plan to get all the loose papers into it, or into the recycling bin, the latter would be prefered, but when it comes down to it, I'm a big ol' pack rat. I just recently got rid of most of my highschool stuff. Still have my Biology binder though. That thing is a full 5 inches thick and was the reason I was a biology major for a year. It's here. on the shelf in my closet, along with my 8 million baseball cards.
OK, time for something else. If you read all this, sorry. I'll get something more interesting up here soon. Now go download that Flaming Lips song, it really does kick ass.

I think there should have been a "You're Captain KFC, fuckass!" or maybe there is and I just didn't get it....
Well, as anyone can see, it's been weeks since my last update. I've been having a blast though. Life on my own is AWESOME! I love not living with my parents. The roomate situation is going well for the most part. Between work, school and my girlfriend, I get out of the house just enough to not be annoyed with anyone I live with, which is essential!
Speaking of the girlfriend, things are going really well with Kelly and I. It's been 2 months, which sounds like not very long, but it feels like we've been together forever, and I like it. We're totally comfortable with each other and things are just working out nicely.
School is going pretty well for the most part. I got into History of Modern Ireland. That class is simply fabulous! The professor is really cool and funny. I'm also taking African storytelling, which is cool, but the class lacks structure a lot of the time. I have another class entitled "Africa in the Global Perspective" and so far we've just been learening very basic things, the class meets once a week for 3 hours, so it's been kind f tedious, but I'm sure it will get better. Lastly I'm taking the most useless class I've ever taken. It's called "Intro to History Major." When I transfered to HSU, I talked to an advisor about it and was all "Umm, I have a History degree, do I really need to take this class?" The answer was Yes. =( The class would be usefull if I was a freshman and had never written a college paper before, however, I find the class boring and useless.
Not too much excitement has been floating around in my neck of the woods. Just been working, schooling and hanging out. Tonight Kelly is coming over to hang out with everyone. We're going to watch "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" on Bravo. The show is absolutely hallarious! It's 5 gay guys that go around and help one straight guy every week get cleaned up, so he can impress his girlfriend/ wife/ whatever. It's really really funny. Check it out, Bravo, Tuesdays @ 10:00.
Not too much else going on. Found myself a nice cheap plane ticket out to Texas, just need to actually purchase it. I plan to do that in a week and a half, after I get the credit card paid off. So excited for the wedding! Can't wait to see everyone, it's gonna kick so much ass!
Well, have a good day everyone. I'm going to try and post again on Thursday. Hopefully....

So here I am, almost a month later than my last update. Thinga have been moving really fast, and I just got my internet working!! My vacation was absolutely amazing! I drove down to the Bay area on the 31st, then flew to vegas on the 1st. We cam back home on the 3rd, then drove to Eureka on the fourth, then Seattle on the 5th. We drove out to the Gorge on the 7th, then to Portland on the 9th, then back to Eureka on the 10th. It was insane spending so much time in the car, but it was absolutely amazingly awesome! I loved every minute of it!
It was great to hang out with everyone and meet new people. I've never partied so much for 10 days in a row. It seems like it was years ago, and really it wasn't even a month ago. I've only been 21 for 19 days, not even 3 weeks. HA!
I know I summed up everything very quickly, and I have much more to tell, but I shall do so tomorow. I'm off all day and plan to do it up proper then.
Thursday, July 31, 2003
So, here I am, I'm drunk, tired and horny. I miss my girlfriend and my friends. I'm a bit drunk right now, but I'm driving home tomorow night!!!
I can't wait to see and kiss Kelly, we've be apart longer than we've been together. That sucks. But I will see her in less than 24 hours, and that makes me happy! YAY!
Things have been chill. Work is easy.
I'm drunk right now and should probably go to bed. Vegas starts Saturday at 12:01 PST. WOOOOORD!
Saturday, July 19, 2003
I'm drunk and I love my house!
(that means I made it alive. WOO HOO!)
Sunday, July 13, 2003
So today I was supposed to have lunch with Nick, see T3 then drive to Eureka. I accomplished 2 of the 3.
I had just said goodbye to Kelly and filled up the gas tank and hit the freeway. I called up the Eureka Costco to see what my schedule was like and they told me I had Monday off. At that point I said to myself "That means I don't have to drive up tonight, I can sleep well tonight and drive up in the morning. So that is exactly what I'm doing. I'm going to drive up sometime tomorow when I wake up. It will most likely take me a few days to get things set up, so I probably won't be on here all too much, but eventually my goal is to not neglect the blog circuit anymore and actually talk to some people!
Well, I'm outta here for now, till next time....
Monday, July 07, 2003
Yep, I'm still alive.
What the hell happened to blogger? This shit looks all weird. Anyways, things are happening!
Mondy, July 14th I will officially be an employee at the Eureka Costco! Which rocks.
Other big chunk of news, I gots a new girlfriend. We've liked each other for a long long time, and finally just got drunk and honest with each other. Her name is Kelly, and she goes to HSU. Awww yeah.
OK, must go to bed. Probably won't be back on this thing until after I move.
Monday, June 23, 2003
So here I am, two more classes, and two finals and I'll have a college degree (kind of.) It's crazy, I'm walking around campus feeling all weird and sappy. I've spent 3 years here and it's all over now. It's weird saying goodbye to people I won't see next year eventhough we all say "See ya Later." It's like High School except for the fact that high school sucked and most of those people I didn't want to see again. Here, there are some awesome people that I wish I had met earlier.
This week will be fun though, I'm finally going to go see the house I've been rent for for the last 3 months. I have one "final" on wednesday that is 25 points and will take all of 15 minutes. As soon as I'm done with that, NNN and myself are driving up to Eureka, with my fully packed Suburban. I'm hoping to get most of my stuff up on this trip so that I organize everything next week when I go up for Orientation. I can't believe how fast things are moving. Finals this week, Orientation and Fourth of July next week. Then it's 3 weeks of work. Then it's Vegas and Gorge, then a week of work, then I'm completely relocated.
I sold back like $175 worth of books today, and I got $56 for them. Oh well, it'll pay for the gas for this week's trip.

Sooooo much to do, so tired, so excited.
School is ALMOST over. I cannot wait at all. Work has been horrendous. I've been working over 40 hours the past three weeks. The money is good, but it sure makes for a sleepy James. Yep, that's all I've been doing, besides kicking it with the homies.
Gorge.
It's coming up, and I have absolutely nothing planned. I have tickets to the shows, a road trip companion and a tent. I had talked to Heather about staying with her at her campsite. I think it is the best option at this point. The official Gorge campsite is cool and convenient, however, you cannot drink there, and we all know this is gonna be two days of severe liver abuse. Soo, I'm taking it upon myself to bring together the masses and form the makings of ETZ II.
Heather drop me a line and let me know how many people you got coming with you and how many you're will to crash with. If we can get everyone together it'd be tits! Feel free to use my comments as a means of organizing thoughts, opinions and plans. Hopefully I'll be able to get online sometime this week.

This was from Friday, not sure if it ever made it...
I got the tent for Gorge! It's a monster! It is 10' by 20' has 4 rooms and sleeps 8-10 people. It's gonna be the party zone, wooooord!

So this is what it's like to be so busy you don't know where you are....
Work has been crazy, we're doing this stupid camera promotion and need mad extra people to work. Soooooooo, I'm working 6 days a week. Good times eh? It's only for 3 weeks and this is the second week, so hopefully after next week things will be cool. School is FINALLY winding down. There's only 2 and a half weeks left!
Last weekend was shitty. I saw Blue Man group on thursday and that totally kicked major ass all over the place. I highly suggest it to anyone and everyone! Then friday I worked and packed up my room. Saturday I got major sick. It was horrible, came home from work and slept for 14 hours. Sunday I felt pbad too, slept a bunch a again and felt better. I'm almost healthy now.
Well the painters are here, so my kitchen is off limits. I'm gonna go out to lunch with my hommie Anna, peace out.

Packing, Packing, Packing!
So, my parents are insane. They have decided they want to quit their jobs, sell the house and buy a Bed and Breakfast Inn down in Solvang (little town near Santa Barbara.) Yep. All at the time when I'm trying to get my moving done. For those of you not familiar with California's geography, Eureka (where HSU is) is at the top of the state. The Bay Area is more or less the middle, and Santa Barbara is down in the souther part of the state. This means there will now be 550 miles or about 10 hours between me and my family. What a trip.
Last weekend was a blast despite my absence from LA. Saturday I got to hang out with Kevin, Sarah and Kelly at the beach. We all smoked and had a little picnic until it got dark. It was awesome. Sunday, I got to see Devon, whome I had not seen in over a year. She was doing well, had a little party, I got a little sick. It's been a long time since I've had hard liquor. Ouch. Monday I played football with some guys from work, and then packed all day.
Tonight I'm seeing the Blue Man Group. They are playing at the Warfield, should be awesome. Rest of the weekend is up for grabs, probably finish packing up all my stuff that don't need for the next month. Good times.

New Maxim in the mail today, who's on the cover? SHANIA TWAIN! ROCK!!!
In other news, I'm listening to all my old mp3's on my comp. Some classic shit on here, and some plain ol' shitty shit. I'm writing my essays for my Renaissance midterm that are due tomorow. This weekend will be slow. Working, and matt, nick and nate are going to LA to kick it with Justin, wish I were going.

Ever have those days when you just feel good? I've been in a pretty good mood as of late, not exactly sure why, but I just am. I've been keeping on the running with Matt as much as possible. My work schedule really only allows me to go out twice a week with him, but 2 runs is better than none, so I'm doing what I can. I haven't been letting school stress me out since it's my last quarter, and wouldn't you know it, I'm pulling straight A's so far. Fuck Yeah!!
NNN, Sarah and Kelly come home from HSU tommorow night. I can't believe they are done with school already, those lucky bastards. I can't wait to hang with them though, it's been over a month since I've seen any of them, should be a lot of fun. Although, now that they're home, there will always be someone to go hang out with, since NNN is ALWAYS down to kick, no matter what day or how late, he's there to hang out with you. Which rocks, but I'll have to actually put effort into setting aside time to do school work.
Slowly but surely, I'm getting ready to move. I picked up the cable router for the internet, a rice cooker, sheets and a comforter and my dad hooked me up with a knife set. All I need to buy is my bed, some blankets, a nice cast iron skillet and lots of beer. =)
Going to see the MATRIX tonight at 10:00, I already heard from homie Ellie today that it rocks (she saw it last night at 11:00.) The rest of the weekend is work and hanging with the crew, hope everyone has a great weekend!

Mmmmm, school. Yeah.
I got out of my speech class early, thank god, that class is completely useless. I sit in a chair with no desk on purpose, because I have not taken a single note in that class yet. She talks to us about Dr. Phil and Judge Judy and how we should watch what people do with their eyes and feet. It's a boring class. For our group project we're doing a presentation on Medicinal Marijuana. At least our topic is of some interest. I get to talk about the legality of it, state laws vs. government laws. Oh well, it'll be ok.
I have my US history class in 20 minutes, get to find out how I did on the test I took last thursday. I did the reading, well at least 90% of it so I should be ok. I finished it pretty quickly and knew most of it. I talked to someone in the earlier class and she got a D, but didn't read much I don't think, so we'll see. I really want an A in that class, so I need at least a B on this test, an A would be far superior though.
After class I'm heading down to the Strouds Outlet to see if they have any good deals on some bedding for the new bed I'm going to get. Need sheets, pillow cases, comforter and blankets. Hopefully this little trip won't kill me, and by me, I mean my checkbook. I get paid on Friday anyways, so it's all good. I've got enough for the bills, the rent and recreation.
Speaking of, this weekend was full of recreation.
Friday: HUng out with Matt and celebrated the great return of his testicles. That's right, he finally broke up with that evil woman! WOOOOOO HOOOOO!!! We had a couple beers and then a VERY nice dinner over at Gordon Biersch.
Saturday I got to se Shayna and John. It had been a year since I've last seen them, they both looked great. It was awesome to hang out. We went to Celia's for dinner. Some good Mexican food. Mmmmm. After that I hooked up with Matt, Brent and Nik and saw X-Men 2. I never saw the first X-Men, but I enjoyed this one. It was good entertainment.
Sunday was Mother's Day I picked up some flowers for my mom and gave them to her when I got home from work. Dad prepared a nice dinner for everyone and we all had a good time.
Well, class starts in 10 minutes, better post this and walk my ass accross campus.

So this last weekend was pretty damn fun! Friday night we went to an Underwea Party. Basically a lot of drunk people running around in underwear. The highlights were the girl wearing the see-through top and bottoms and our friend Travis running around in his Scooby Doo Underroos.
Saturday we went to breakfast and got a big ol bowl of country potatoes with melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole and salsa on them. They were hella good. Esther, you would have LOVED them. =) After that we sat around the house. Saw the movie Confidence. It's the one with Dustin Hoffman and Edwd Burns. Damn good movie, enjoyed it alot. Then we went to dinner at this place called Pluto's. Which is like the Ikea of eating establishments. You go to the counter and give them a punch card. They punch out the things you order, then you pay for it and pick it up. It was decent. Had some killer Garlic Fries. Mmmm. From there we went and checked out a couple bands playing some free shows. After that we went back to Travis' place and chilled for the night. It was cool.
Sunday we got up and went to the store. Got all the goodsnecessary for some kick ass French Toast. Including Texas Toast (the big fluffy bread they us in resturants.) We hung for a bit then Brent and I made our way back home. I picked up a birthday card for my little sister who is now 18 and slipped in 20 bucks. Had some dinner with the family and called it a night.
Yesterday I went to school which was ok, a little boring, but I realized that this quarter is just flying by. After next week, I'll be halfway done. Stoked! After school I picked up my 9 year old sister from school and ten went jogging with Matt. A we were stretching out before our run he says to me "What you up to tonight?"
"Nothing"
"Well, it's Cinco de Mayo, we should do somerthing."
So we ended up going to the store and getting all the necessary ingredients for a kick ass BBQ:
(2) Tri-Tip Roasts
(6) Limes
(5) Serrano Chiles
(1) Mango
(1) Bottle of Emril's Southwest Essence
(12) Coronas
(2) Jars of Salsa
(1) Bag of Tortilla Chips
We got back to Matt's house and busted out the chips and salsa and the Coronas and limes. Then we got started out the meat. We mixed the Essence with some dried chili powder and some lemon pepper. Then we put the Mango, the Chiles, the juice of 4 limes and a healthy splash of Milago Tequilla in a chopper. The result was a sweet and tangy salsa with a kick. We poured the juice over the steaks and ate the leftovers with chips. After the steaks absorbed all the liquid we put the dry ingredients on the and made a nice layer. Then we fired up the BBQ. The meat came out AWESOME! Definitely something I plan on doing again in the future, and the mango salsa was DAMN tasty.
Tonight I'm cooking a garlic sesame teriyaki chicken with white rice. Then it's off to Tuesday night bowling with one of my old professors and a couple of old classmates. Yee-Haw!

Today was a decent day, and it's only 11:30am.
I'm sitting in the music lab at school since my speech class was canceled! Woo Hoo! I got a chance to talk to Mark, one of the coolest teachers I've ever had. It was nice talking to him. I took a test in my Middle Ages history class. I think I did pretty good. The teacher loves me, I've taken 4 classes with her before this one, so I'm not too worried.
This is week 4 of my 12 week quarter and so far I have straight A's. I'm determined to get out of Foothill with at least one 4.0 quarter, and this being my last quarter, I've run out of time, this is the one.
Matt went up to the house this last weekend and set up his desk and bookcase and all that. I'm seriously jealous. I have not been to the house since we first toured it. Now $800 into the place, I've yet to be in it. I work weekends though, which is why it is hard for me to get up there. My two days off are Monday and Tuesday, which would be fine, other than the fact that I'm in school. So looks like I probably won't get up there until July, since this quarter runs all the way till the end of June. Oh well, there's not too much that I'd want to move up there at this point anyways, it's just the excitement of having a house, and having my OWN room. For the last 16 years I've shared a room with my brother, it could be worse, but I'm really definitely ready for my own space.
More exciting still than my own room, a big bed! My bed is a twin mattress that my mom got when she moved out of her house, 28 years ago. A new mattress is a must, but I've got to decide that I'm tired of my feet hanging over the edge of my twin mattress, so I'm upgrading to a Queen. It's twice as wide, and 5 inches longer, and we all know how big a difference another 5 inches can make. =)
This week I'm closing Monday-Thursday, and then working 10:00 - 6:30 on Friday. After that I'm heading up to Davis for the weekend. We usually do some sort of BBQ/ Celebration/ Alcohol Abuse for Cinco de Mayo. Well the 5th is on a Monday this year, so this weekend we are celebrating Tres de Mayo. Basically it's just an excuse to have a lot of BBQ and drink A LOT of beer. Haven't been drunk in a while, so this should be fun. Anyways, time to get my shit packed up and head over to my next class. Cheers everyone.

So, here it is, nearly two weeks since I've last blogged. Where does the time go? Things have been really busy, but it's ok, I've come to the conclusion that I thrive on chaos, and that I need something constantly going on. I've not had a free moment in so long, I can hardly remember.
Today wraps up the second week in my new quarter, and so far it hasn't been half bad. I'm taking two history classes, a speech class and cultural anthropology. Along with school, I've been working a lot. Since we got approved for the house, we had to put down a security deposit, and pay a partial on the months rent, and then rent for may is due on the first. So I've not had as much money as I used to. Which is good in a way, cause at least now I'm not wasting my money on stuff I don't really need. I told my boss if there were any extra hours available to let me know, cause I need the extra money, so I've been busting out 38 hour work weeks the past three weeks or so. It's been busy, but it'll be nice to have some extra cash. Plus the more hours I work, the closer I reach my 800 hour mark, which means another raise, woo hoo!
A special message to Lani - I got your message, it's still on my phone. Thank you so much! I listen to it like every 4 days or so, it's awesome.
Speaking of DMB, cannot wait for Gorge. I've decided that I'm driving up there. I'll come home from Vegas on August 3, then drive up to Eureka (my house) on eiher the 4th or the 5th, then head up to Washington. Costco has a big ass 10 person multi-room tent, I think I'm gonna pick it up next month. Not that my tent last year didn't kick ass (The ETZ: Errogenous Tent Zone) but it would be nice to have something a bit more stable, that provides some protection. Not sure what everyone's plans are, but Heather I'm down to go in on that camp site with you, and think we should make it party central. This time, we won't have to worry about hiding beer. Oh the humanity of that incident.
I've got a class in 15 minutes, and then I'm meeting up with Bev for some burritos from Taqueria La Bamba, the best burritos in Mountain View. Mmmmmm. Hope everyone is doing well.

This weekend we all fell in love.
Friday's journey was nice and relaxing. At 4:00pm we had an appointment to see a house. It was 4 bedrooms, 1bath, an kind of janky. We weren't too excited, but we thought, worst case scenario, we could swing it. Then at 5:15 we an appointment to see another house. This was a 5 bedroom, 2 bath. It rocked! We all loved it and even got our friend Nik to consider moving in.
We sent in our rental applicatios today and found out that nobody else has put in for it! The lady at the rental company said they will keep it open for another 3-5 days. If nobody else applies for the house, it's ours. The only part that kind of sucks is that we'd have to start paying for it mid April. They'd pro-rate that month, and then it's $1400 a month after that. If that ends up happening, I'm moving up there in July. It just doesn't make sense for me to pay for a house I'm not living in. As soon as I'm done with Foothill, looks like I'll be up North. I'm really really really excited. This house is big, has a good sized kitchen, washer and dryer. It also has a full yard with a deck (perfect fo BBQs.) It is about 10 miles from school, and it's a two block walk from the forrest. NICE! I'll have to go up and take some extensive puictures if we get the place.

Thursday August 7: Best Available
Friday August 8: Lawn
That's all I know for Gorge. Well, that, and I'm going. I'm very excited. This summer is going to be a blast, and tomorrow I get a little tast of what life will be like in August. I'm heading up to HSU at 9:00am tomorrow, shouldget there between 1:30 and 2:00pm. Then later in the afternoon/ evening we're going to view some houses that are going up for rent. See what the houses are like in different neighborhoods, get a feel of what it will be like next school year. I'm pretty damn excited. There will also be some minor partying going on. =)
OK!!
Thanks to some help from The BlogMaster this bad boy is up and running. But it's time for work. Headed up to HSU this weekend. Have fun ya'll, know I will! =)

So DMB is in the doghouse. They are playing Shoreline August 1 and 2. I will be in Vegas. Fuckers! I'll have to catch them at the Gorge on the 7th and 8th. Maybe I'll do Marysville again too. Hmmm.....

I've come to the conclusion that cajun music kicks ass. I can't understand a single word they are saying, but nonetheless it kicks ass. Now time for some Blue Oyster Cult, enjoy your weekends everyone!

fucking blogspot server sucks my balls and won't let me view any blogs....
Monday, February 17, 2003
So I'm thinking I should tape record myself throught the day. It always seems like I'm walking around, or getting into my car and thinking about shit and saying "I should blog about this later." However, when later comes, I'm here thinking "I wish I had something to blog about."
Anyways I'll supplement this weak blog with a laughable story from my fine Presidents Day weekend.
I puked on my ex-girlfriend.
That's it.
OK, OK, I'll tell you the full story.
This weekend I had to do inventory at work. Normally I would say "that sucks" but it was beneficial to a party schedule. Friday I was out of work at 7:30 and I did not have to return until 4:00 the next afternoon. I went over to Adam's house and partied hard friday night, knowing that I don't usually have saturday mornings off. I drank, ALOT that night. I had not partied in a while, and was making up for weeks of no drinking. Everything was fine until the pipe got passed around. I ended up taking 3 or 4 hits of some medicinal marijuana, which is a lot stronger than street pot. Needless to say that was about 5 hits too many. I continued to drink more beer. Eventually, Lisa and I ended up outside talking. Next thing I knew, I tossed her aside and projectiled onto the lawn. The next morning I discovered that she received a slight shower on her arm. Everyone I've told seems to think it was really funny. I felt pretty bad though. I think I'll be taking another break from the beer for a bit. Friday was a lot.
And speaking of big parties. I really want to go to Bonnaroo! The super sad thing is, I can't. It's a week before finals. If that festival was just two weeks later, I'd be all over it. Same shit happened to me last year. Looks like I'll have to try and make it out for Bonnaroo 3.0 in 2004, before I go to Europe.

So keeping with the Bush is A Dumbass topic....
I was eating dinner with the family on Monday night and my mom asked me how my day was. I said "Oh it was just fantastical!" My little little sister, the 8 year old turns to me and says "James, don't talk like that. You sound stupid making up words like President Bush." I was seriously laughing for like 5 minutes. My little 8 year old sister told me this! I couldn't believe it.
Anyways, not too much is going on en mi vida. I saw a lot of kick ass movies and a really lame one. Here are some movies everyone should check out:
Confessions of A Dangerous Mind
Even though it has Julia Roberts and 600 shots of Sam Rockwell's butt, this movie kicks ass. I highly reccomend it.
The Guru
This movie was absolutley histerical. I was laughing out loud the entire time. It helps to have seen Greese before seeing this movie, since there are a few references in this movie.
Old School
This movie doesn't come out for another week or two, but I caught a sneek preview on Sunday. This was one of those movies you see when you do not want to think. It was absolutely retarded, but hysterical.
Now that I named some kick ass movies, here is one to STAY AWAY from. Final Destination 2. I never saw the first one, but everyone wanted to see this movie and I didn't want to be the guy that ruins what everyone else wants. So I went and saw it. The most exciting thing that occured was when I farted in the middle of the theatre and two people I was with looked over at me and started laughing. This movie was terrible!
Not too much going on in my world at the moment. I'm going over to Adam's house on Friday and getting destroyed. I have to inventory on Saturday which means I don't get there until 6:30 saturday night, which means I can go get stupid on friday. =)

Sweet lord, George W. Bush is damn retarded!
His State of The Union address included mispronunciations and made up words. My two favorites were "peninchula" (instead of peninsula) and Hitlerism (?). The fun didn't stop there though, on Saturday, he addressed the nation about the shuttle. He mispronounced God. He said Gad. Damn he's dumb....

Hello FBI/ CIA/ NSA Agents, feel free to leave comments.
Yep that's right, I'm on the FBI watch list. Why you ask? Well, I don't actually know for sure, but I've got a damn good feeling. I'm taking an intro to Middle Eastern History class, and for that we had to buy two books. The Middle East: A Brief History of The Last 2000 Years by Bernard Lewis and Tailban by Ahmed Rashid. If that alone didn't put me on the list, then today's trip to the public library did! I've got a paper due on Monday, and ended up checking out six books on Islam/ Muslims including a translated version of Al - Qur'an. Cool huh? Well if there are some government fuckers reading this, you're violating my civil rights by tracking me, you fucks. War is not the answer.
Now that that is settled...
Had a good weekend. Friday I went to dinner with Scott and Nicole, from work, then we went bowling. It was a lot of fun. I had not been bowling in years. Saturday I worked all day then went out with Matt, Mike and Mike. We had dinner and watched the Robin Williams Live from NY dvd. It was fucking hallarious. I laughed so much, it hurt. Sunday I opened at Costco and made it to Adam's house by about 2:30. We watched the game and had some BBQ. It was intense with all the Raiders fans around, so I left as soon as I could.

Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangster
Wednesday, January 22, 2003
So I got a C on my first US History test. I'm not too worried since he drops the lowest test grade at the end of the quarter, so hopefully this will be the one that gets dropped. Next time I'm going to opt to take the essay exam instead of the multiple choice. I can bullshit an essay much easier than I can bullshit a multiple choice test. Other than that things are going really well in school. I'm a little behind on my reading, but the fact that I'm even doing ANY reading this qurter is amazing. I usually just skim through books and listen to lectures and make my way through classes, but this time, I'm actually reading the books.
My only problem with school right now is that I'm totally focusing on other things. I'm constantly think about next school year, away from home! I'm totally stoked to be living on my own next year, I mean I'll be living with friends, but I'll be away from the family, which is deffinitely something I need right now. I've also been thinking about going to DMB shows, and I really want to go to the Dave and Tim show in Wisconsin, but I just cannot afford the 300 bucks it would cost me to fly out there. There's also Shayna's and John's wedding in November. I'm totally excited to go to that. Not just because they're getting married, but all the homies will be there too, so it'll be aweome to hang with everyone, even Vonda. There's so much happening this year, and my summer is going to fly by since I only get a month and half between schools, but I really cannot wait fot it.
Monday, January 20, 2003
Well, it's Monday night and here I am. So much has happened since I've last blogged I'm not quite sure where to begin.
Going down to LA to visit Justin was absolutely awesome! We drove down on Sunday the 29th and mde it to LA by about 4:00pm. We started partyng at Justin's house that night. The sad thing, we were so tired from driving and everything, we were all passed out around 9:30, 10:00 that night.
It worked out pretty well since we were all up by 7:00 the next morning. Justin had to work, so Matt, Anna, NNN and his sister and I went to Disneyland. I was excited like you couldn't believe, cause I had not been to Disneyland in 8 years, I was stoked. As soon as we got there, we made resrvations for the "Blue Bayou." That's the eating place inside of Pirates of The Carribbean. We couldn't get a table till 9:30 that night. We hit up all the standard rides and had a blast. They still had all their Christmas decorations up and the Haunted Mansion was all done up in "The Nightmare Before Christmas" style, it was bad ass. After Disneyland we headed back to Justins and partied a little bit.
The next day we hung out and waited for Justin to get off of work as he only had to work a half day. We hit up Del Taco, and The Dollar Store and Ralphs an prepared for a New Years Eve bash! We ordered up some Islands to go and Justin's roomate Jen picked it up for us. We successfully completed a double-deck game of Kings that night. I also smoked some. It was a good time. At New Years we started popping out poppers and blowing our noise makers.
The guy next door to Justin came over and started making noise with us and told us all to come over and party with them. I was all kinds of messed up at this point and made my way over. I'm not one to dance, simply for the fact that I'm white and I can't dance. However, when I'm drunk, I'm a dancing machine. I went over and shook my ass all over the place, and that is where the quote of the weekend was born. I was dancing with one girl and she goes "Ooooh, look at James, he got the moves. Your mamma black right?" and I was all "Naw, look at me." To which she replies "Well somebody was freakin in the cabin." It was seriously the funniest shit ever. I ended up partying over there till like 3 or 4 in the morning.
On New Years Day we all went to Denny's and Amoeba Records. From there we went to Erinn's appartment which was cool. From there we headed to the Sherman Oaks Mall and then Target and then to Justin's place. Justin, NNN & his sister, Matt Anna and I all smoked and put on "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory." It was bad ass. We also had some El Pollo Loco, it was one of the best meals I've ever had.
The next morning we headed back home around 9:00am. It was a great trip!
The rest of the weekend we all just hung out and had fun. I went back to school the following monday. My classes are great.
I'm taking three history classes and a music class. I'm taking US History pre 1877, Intro to Middle Eastern History and a History seminar on the holocaust and then I'm taking Music in Multicultural America. I've already done two weeks worth of classes and am having a lot of fun. I feel A LOT better than I did last quarter. I actually feel like I have direction right now.
I was un-officially, officially accepted to Humboldt State. I received a letter in the mail saying I was welcome to a reception/ introduction with my family for newly accepted students, yet I have not received an official letter of acceptance. So I'm assuming I'm in. =)
I hope everyone is doing well and that everyone had a good New Years. I'll trying to update this thing more regularly. My music class is part online part in class, but everything is due through the website, so I'll at least be online more often to turn things in for that.
