Woo! Week three and bike riding continues! I'm pretty proud of myself for keeping up with it. It has totally saved me a lot in gas money and it is really good exercise. The rain should be starting within the next 3-6 weeks, hopefully it is more like six, the more bike riding the better.

For the first time in a while it feels like things are controlled. I paid off a credit card last week, which was a small step, but a very important one. I've still got three more to go, but I'm making progress, and would really like to see myself not use them during the holiday season.

I've been working a ton lately, upwards of 48 hours a week. It is a bit tiring, but the money is good, and I'm too busy to spend it, hence the credit card bill going away.

I work in the sales department today, should be a nice piece of cake...

As far as baseball goes, the National League West is usually comprised of some pretty good teams. This year it's a whole other story. The first place team is one game below .500 and only leads by 5.5 games, that is just sad. It is also sad because the Giants are doing so poorly, that they are in second place. The good news is, is that they still have a chance of winning the NL West. They have 14 games left to play and 4 of them are with the first place Padres. It sure does make for some exciting baseball. I feel a bit bad for hard working teams that have way better records but have no chance of going to the playoffs. Nobody from the NL West deserves to go, but someone has to, so it might as well be the Giants.

Here's hoping they kick the crap out of the Dodgers this afternoon.

Riding my bike felt good, but weird. It was the first time in two and a half years that I had been on the thing. I am definitely not in the shape I used to be in, I got to work and was all flushed and sweaty and lightheaded. It felt good though. The ride home, which is slightly uphill, was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Today the weather is crappier out and should provide for a better bike riding experience as the cool air will cool me down while en route. I work all weekend, and might be going to a house warming party on Saturday, we shall see.

Got my bike yesterday! That means today is the first day of riding to work! Woo hoo!

Bored....

It's labor day and kelly is at work laboring...

I should be cleaning something, maybe even myself. Instead I've been loafing on the couch watching tv and cruising the internet. A bunch of people went to Fern Canyon this morning, i should have gone, but with gas at the low low price of 3.19/ gallon, i need to not drive. I'm getting my bike fixed as I type this, hopefully I can pick it up tomorow. I plan to bike to work from now on. It's only 3 miles away, and a terrible waste of gas. I'm excited about my bike, I haven't been on it in over two years. sad to think about it like that, but it's true. I'm hoping the bike riding will help put me back into some shape, or at least get me fit enough to where I can start exercising again. I was jogging pretty regularly before i moved up here, and it just fell apart, i need to start again.

I think I want to move to Seattle. not sure when, or how, but i think that might be my next move...

2275 miles! That was the total amount of miles I put on my car during my 12 day excursion. It sure was fun! I'm glad to be home, but man, I cannot wait to go back to Vegas. That city is just too much fun.

1020 miles and 17 hours in the car later, I'm in the Bay Area. Holy Moly.

Holy Moly I leave tomorow!!! So so so so so excited! Let the festivities begin.

I think one of the best parts abou taking a road trip is making the mixes that go along with the trip. Nathan and I are going to put about 2,000 miles (about 3220 km) on my car in the coming weeks. With that being said, we're going to need LOTS of music. It's been a long process, but tremendous progress is being made. The Second CD is just about done, and I think I can squeeze out a third mix to bring along with all the other CDs I plan to pack.

Less than a week till departure!!!

Blaaaahhh!

So much to do today...

I have the day off, but all I'm going to do is work, how is that a day off?

In order to prepare for my forthcoming trip there are several things I must take care, the first and foremost being LAUNDRY! This is a mjor hassle now that I live in a place without a washer and dryer. Nathan and Sarah pay a flat fee for utilities and have a washer and dryer so I go to their house. I usually have a few loads to do at a time, so it takes a while, but free is free!

I also have to clean their house. They let me have my Eureka JameStock party at their house, and now their kitchen floor is gross. They have been house sitting and haven't cleaned their real house, so I'm going to. It's the least I could do for them.

I also need to wash my car. It has literally been a year or more, and frankly, it is becoming a safety hazard. When I drove down south last week, I was thinking, "I can't really see out of my windows, this is bad." Speaking of the car, it's time for an oil change too.

After all that I can put together my totally awesome road mixes for the road trips ahead. Much music will be needed. Any suggestions?

So the surprise visit to SLO was a total success! My parents had no idea, but were very excited.

The drive home on Tuesday wasn't too bad, but man it was a long time to be in the car by myself. I'll fully admit that when I'm on the road, I'll go through spells of not talking, but this was rediculous. It was however, good training for August 22, when Nathan and I drive all the way from the Gorge to the Bay Area, holy crap that will be fun.

When I got home on Tuesday Kelly and I headed up to McKinleyville where Nathan and Sarah are house sitting. Doug, Matt, Sarah and Matt all came too. We partied and BBQ'd. It was a lot of fun. Nathan and Sarah scored me a copy of The Rock, but it's the criterion collection one with all kinds of special stuff, I've been wanting it. Kelly got me a pair of my own bowling shoes, ROCK! Matt hooked me up with an Orange County Choppers coloring/ activity book. Overall, it was a really great birthday.

So here it is, Saturday afternoon, and I'm not at work, yet. I start at 3:00 today, because we're doing inventory tonight. It has been really nice having the day to myself, yet I feel like I've totally wasted it by sitting in front of the computer the whole time.

Tomorow night I am driving down to the Bay Area to stay at Kelly's mom's house. Then Monday morning I am driving down to SLO to surprise my parents for their 25th anniversary. My mom was pretty bummed when I told her I probably was not going to be able to go down and see her this summer, so this should be quite a surprise. Their actual anniversary (and my birthday) is on Tuesday, but I wouldn't have been able to get the same kind of a jumpstart on the drive down if I left on Monday. Tuesday morning I am driving all the way from SLO to Eureka, it's going to be one heck of a car ride. Tuesday night we are having a small BBQ with Nathan, Sarah, Matt, Lisa and Doug. It should be nice.

In exactly 18 days I leave Eureka and head up north for my Pacific Northwest Excursion, which also includes 3 nights at the Gorge! Soooo excited. From the Gorge Nathan and I are driving all the way to San Francisco (looks like it'll take anywhere from 10-12 hours for that, yikes). From San Francisco we're flying to LA, then going to Disneyland for 2 days. From LA we're flying to Vegas for 2 days. From Vegas we fly back to SF, then drive back to Eureka. It's going to be a jam packed 12 days, but WELL worth it.

Seven weeks! Seven damn weeks since I last updated this thing. I don't blame people for not reading it anymore. People keep trying to get me to join MySpace, and I'm like "I already ahve a blog that I don't update enough."

Arrrrghh! Life is complicated. I've done so much and seen so much and experienced even more. I know that sounds like sentimental crap, but how else can explain it?

I go on my mega vacation in less than a month! Holy shit!

Blech, moving sucks.

I'm excited about the new place, just not the process.

Everything is out of my old house, just need to organize shit and figure out where everything goes in the new place.

Well, it's official. I'm all done with school! Last final took place last night. It wasn't even a final, we just had a book discussion, then we went out to a bar with the teacher and drank beer for a couple hours. It was a great way to end the semester/ college. Graduation is on saturday, and the family comes into town tomorow, should be a lot of fun. Yee Haw!

Went and picked up the keys yesterday.

The place looks pretty nice. The old tennants could have cleaned up a bit more, but oh well. There's only a couple of problems, the biggest being a small hole in the ceiling of the bathroom, which leaves the drywall exposed. That should be fixed today.

We're going to do a major clean before we really start moving in. The kitchen and bathroom need to be bleached, heavily! The carpets got cleaned, and should be fine, but the kitchen floor could use a scrubbing. Soooo excting to get in there though.

Lastr night we walked from Matt's house to my new place: 2 minute walk!

In other news, I am super excited for August, thinking about making up some T-Shirts, we'll see if there's a market for em. I would really like to know where the fuck my seats are for Gorge, they are lagging like hell on that shit!

It is so perfect out right now! It is warm and cold at the same time, with lots of fog misting through the trees, yet it isn't thick enough to make them invisible or to make me get wet while walking outside. If I did not have class today I would drive up to Fern Canyon and get lost for 6 or 7 hours. Man oh man I wish I were in the woods right now.

In other news, the house is slowly becoming empty. Matt came and got his bed and fouton yesterday. He still has a few random objects in his room, and some dishes in the kitchen, but I'm sure he'll pick those up this weekend.

I'm excited to start packing up all my shit and get over to the new place. We get the keys in 5 days! I'm excited. It will be good to get out of the party house for a while. I've spent too much money and wasted too many cells on the events that transpire there. It will be nice to settle down and not be constantly on the go.

WE GOT THE PLACE!

Kelly got a phone call today saying that the 2 bedroom place we wanted is ours! WOO HOO!

It's a 2 bedroom duplex with 1 bathroom. The cool part is that the spare bedroom is on the wall we share with the neighbor, so we'll hardly really have to worry about any noises or anything. It also has a 1 car garage and a small yard, very kick ass!

We go into the property manager on Wednesday to sign paper work, and should get keys in like two weeks. Very exciting business!

So MattFest is over. It was great getting to hang out with all my buds from back home. Friday night we went out to dinner, and partied till like 4:00am. Saturday we BBQ'd and that night the big party was here. Shit got a little out of control, had to start regualting on people. I think this picture totally sums up the whole weekend:

Sitting in the computer lab at school right now. There are a million people in here! Usually, this place is empty at this hour, but for some reason everyone and their mom is here today. There are like three people standing up at the front waiting. Yikes! I always hate when people are waiting, cause I feel like I should hurry up and offer them my computer. At the same time though, I got here first, fair and square, so why should I have to give it up? Oh well, I'm leaving for class in a few minutes anyways....

Giants got their asses handed to them last night by the Dodgers. It wasn't pretty. Everything was OK till they took Reuter out. It was 2-1 Dodgers in the fifth, then they went to the bullpen in the 6th and that's when shit got out of control. Fuck it sucked. I know it's only the second game of the season, but it's the Dodgers, those fuckers.

Things are going well in school at the moment. I turned in my research paper yesterday, so the "big project" for the semester is over. 5 weeks from today I'll be all done with finals. From now until then, it is easy living for the most part, just a couple small papers and two short books to read.

French class is going well, but I don't like it. I enjoy Spanish so much more. Spanish seems to make more sense, and sounds better. The French will help me more when I go to Europe though.

Matt's birthday is this weekend, so MattFest is going down. It could possibly be the last one of its kind. Matt is officially out of the house on May 1. I will be there another month, and then Kelly and I should have our place. It is an end of an era, the destruction of Harris Ranch. Oh well, it's been a good run...

Things are going my way!

Last night I did my taxes, and instead of owing 300 bucks like I thought I did, I only owe 134. Fuck yeah!

I also was browsing some properties online and may have found a new place for Kelly and I to move into. We're going to go drive by it today and take a look.

As if that wasn't good enough, last night was monday, which means bowling. I bowled the best game of my life, and that record will probably stay for a while. Last night I bowled a 202! I was so fucking stoked! It rocked.

In other news, there is less than 6 weeks of school left. Holy shit!

Also, capitalone got charged for 2 pairs of seats and a pair of lawn tickets for the gorge. Hopefully I'll find out more this week. We'll see. Can't wait for this summer!

Thursday, March 10, 2005

Wow, I was doing so good at keeping this thing updated, and now I'm slacking....

I just requested tickets for all three nights of the Gorge. Hachi-machi! With all the service fees and crap, those 6 tickets came to 400 bucks! Fucking terrible!

I don't even know if I have anyone to use the second ticket yet, but I'm sure I can find someone. Nathan is talking about maybe going. We'll see how it goes.

Today is thursday, and spring break officially starts in an hour and a half. I cannot believe the semester is half way over already, yikes! Sunday I work until 5:15, then I am rushing home, picking up Kelly and her mom (who is flying up here tomorrow) and we're driving down to the Bay Area for a few days. I'm driving back up here with Kelly on Thursday. It will be fun to head down there and see some people, though I always end up only seeing a fraction of the people I want to see. Honestly, I really want to move back down there. I love being up here in Humboldt, and I've met some amazing people, but when it comes down to it, it isn't home. San Luis Obispo has my folks and siblings, but it especially does not feel like home. A, c'est la vie!

Last day of the month already? Holy Moly!

The weekend was fun, Nik came up from the bay area for a 26 hour visit. Friday we watched Some Kind of Monster. It is the documentary of Metallica and the making of their last album. It was quite good, but very long (2 hours and 20 minutes).

Saturday I took the GWPE, which is the Graduation Writing Proficiency Exam. It was a complete waste of time, but required for graduation. After that, I went out to breakfast, then started re-organizing CDs. Around 3:30 I headed over to Nathan's pad and hung out with him and Nik and Sarah. We went out to Chinese food and then hit up a birthday party then ended the night at my house. Last night we cleaned the kitchen, for like 2 hours, it was bad. Now we have a kitchen, it's very nice.

Today is monday, so that means only one thing: bowling night. Yee-Haw.

Monday, February 21, 2005

Ahhhhh mondays....

Mondays are turning into my favorite day of the week, only because it means I get to go bolwing that night. In return, Tuesdays are my worst day, cause I'm tired as all shit.

Last night Kelly and I went over to Lisa's house (matt's girlfriend) and watched Friday Night Lights with her and matt. It was AWESOME! If you haven't seen it, check it out, really good movie.

Today should be an easy day. I ahve class in a few minutes, then some reading to do then watching a movie for my Art of Film class. Today we're watching "The Seventh Seal" which is supposedly referenced in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey. I've never seen the Seventh Seal, but B&T's Bogus Journey was terrible. After the movie, it's dinner time followed by bowling. Tonight my goal is break 150. So far my all time personal best is 148, so we'll see what happens.

time for class....

So last night, was the most boring/ productive friday night of my life. I called in sick to work, and spent the day cleaning my room, doing laundry and downloading shit off of Soulseek. It was rad. My room is looking pretty sexy, and I've almost eliminated "the pile." The pile is a bunch of crap that sits on my chair, and gets moved around from place to place, and then ends up back on my chair. Last night I got it to down to a very select assortment, it was nice.

Tonight I got out of work at 4:00 and went to dinner with Kelly. Our friend Sarah is turning 20 tomorow so we're having a birthday party for her tonight at my house, since it is large and party friendly. I remember when turning 20 sounded like it was way in the future, now I'm looking at the calander and realizing it's less than six months till I turn 23, crazy. Life is just moving so fast, it scares me a bit. Kelly's sitting on my bed reading a book, cause she decided that was better than watching one of my old movies. The party should be starting in about an hour or so. Should be a fun night. Work will be cake tomorow, only a six hour shift.

I've been playing music with a couple of guys from work lately. It's nothing serious, just screwing around, having fun. Going to go do that tomorow after work. Well people are starting to arrive early, to set up. Time to go be a nice host. Adios.

I want Liquid Soul to go on tour. They were hiatus for a while and are now playing in the Chicago area, which is step in the right direction, but I want them back out on the west coast.

Today I woke up with Pink Eye. Woo Hoo! This is the second time this year, I'm not really excited about this average. Since I have a cold and felt like shit anyways, I called in sick. I've been drinking tea and vegetating, it's been nice. I slept for over 10 hours last night/ this morning, it felt fantastic. My goal was to organize my CDs, which are a complete mess, but it's not really looking like that's going to happen. I hate being sick.

Wednesday, February 16, 2005

Didn't think people were still reading this.... hehe.

I am putting off writing my paper. Not good at all. It's really simple and is credit no credit which is why I don't want to do it. I mean, honestly, who writes a 2 page paper that doesn't matter. Grrrr. This class is almost too easy, at least I get to watch a bunch of cool old movies for free.

Things have been getting interesting around these parts. As it stands, I am currently 3 months away from graduation. Yikes. Not exactly sure I'm ready for this.

The house situation is also getting interesting. Right now, there are six of us living at the house. It's getting to be a bit much. Also, some of the things going on in here, I'm not too excited about. Kelly, Matt and myself are entertaining the idea of getting a place. I think I'm ready to move in Kelly. We've been together for over a year and a half now, and things are still going well. She has inquired about it in the past and I've always danced around the issue. I've seen many a happy couple break up after moving in with each other, but I think we can make it. Matt has also said he wants out of our current location, but he's only been with his girlfriend for a couple of months, and is not ready to move in with her. I told him I'd totally get a place with him and he seemed happy about that idea. Then the other day I told him I found a third roomate (Kelly). He sounded open to it. The three of us need to sit down and talk things out. I'm thinking I will definitely stay at this house at least untill after graduation. My goal is to get my credit cards paid off by graduation, and living here will make that goal happy faster, since the rent is so cheap here now that we have 6 people splitting it.

In other news, tomorow is my three year anniversary with Costco. I cannot believe I've been working there that long, it seems like yesterday I shaved my hair off and walked in looking for a job. Now I'm making decent wages as a cashier. Still seems like a lot of time, it's longest job I've had, and I plan to be there at least another year or two. Craziness.

Well, I think that about does it for now. Till next time...
